SOLBASE 5 Year Whole of System and 10 Year Workmanship Warranty

 At SOLBASE, we pride ourselves on the quality of the equipment we supply, as well as the excellence of our installers. That is why we offer our customers a 5-year whole system warranty, beginning from the date of the installation. In the unlikely event that your system has a fault or defect, SOLBASE undertakes to rectify the system at no additional cost to you. 

In addition to our whole system warranty, SOLBASE will cover all related faults or defects directly resulting from the installation workmanship for a further 5 years. This warranty is added on to the original 5-year whole system warranty, giving you a total 10 years workmanship warranty.

5 YEAR WHOLE SYSTEM WARRANTY

Scope

In the unlikely event that your system suffers from a defect relating to either the components supplied or the quality of our workmanship, then SOLBASE undertakes to rectify the system at no cost to you. This warranty applies for a period of 5 years, beginning from the day of installation. 

This warranty covers all the costs of repair, component replacement, as well as the labour cost of reinstallation.

Limitations and Exclusions 

SOLBASE retains the right, to the extent permitted by the law, to certain exemptions to this warranty period: 

  • Damage caused to the system by weather or natural events (your solar energy expert will usually advise you to have your system covered under a home insurance policy, to avoid the fallout from such unpredictable events) 
  • Damage caused by events that are not directly within SOLBASE’s control (e.g. vandalism), or by external parties other than SOLBASE
  • Incidents whose impact is limited to visual evidence, and which do not directly impact the performance and efficiency of your solar energy solution – for example, scratches 
  • SOLBASE endeavours to have you, the end user, in possession of the full knowledge required to operate your new system. We do not take responsibility for damage to your system due to non-compliance with operating instructions. 

10 YEAR WORKMANSHIP INSTALLATION WARRANTY

 Scope 

SOLBASE offers a Workmanship Installation warranty, for a period of 10 years beginning from the date of installation, that covers any defects or faults arising from the work of our installers. In the event of a successful claim filed under our warranty, SOLBASE undertakes to repair, replace or refurbish components of the installed system so that the defects of the original workmanship are no longer an issue. 

Limitations and Exclusions 

To the extent compatible with the law, SOLBASE maintains the right to certain exclusions from the Workmanship Installation Warranty, such as: 

  • Fault, or damage caused by the electricity grid 
  • Damage caused by events that are not directly within SOLBASE’s control (e.g. vandalism), or by external parties other than SOLBASE
  • Upgrades and alterations to system switchboard as part of system installation 
  • Failures or defects of the system not directly caused by workmanship 
  • SOLBASE endeavours to have you, the end user, in possession of the full knowledge required to operate your new system. We do not take responsibility for damage to your system due to non-compliance with operating instructions. 

EXCLUSION FOR SERVICE OR INSURANCE WORKS

For all works initiated by insurance claims, warranty replacement, or for service or warranty works that are paid for or service functions including solar energy systems not originally installed by SOLBASE, the 10 year Installation Workmanship warranty does not apply. The 5 year Whole of System Warranty will be applicable in relation to any products supplied by SOLBASE.

WARRANTY TRANSFER

Should the original premises of the installation change ownership, then the balance of the 5 year whole of system and the 10 year installation workmanship warranty are both transferable to the new owner. 

Claiming under these warranties 

To make a claim under these warranties, you will need to supply: 

  • Your name, contact information, and address of the original system installation 
  • Details of the proposed claim, including photos

YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS

Our Whole of System Warranty, and our Installation Workmanship Warranty, are in addition to any statutory rights that you are entitled to, including but not limited to those guaranteed by the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with our services, you are entitled: 

  • To cancel your service contract with us
  • To a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value 

In addition, you are entitled to a choice between a refund, or a replacement in the case of major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or services does not amount to a major failure that irreparably compromises the effectiveness of your solar energy solution, then you are entitled to have failure rectified within a reasonable time frame. If this is not done, then you as the customer are entitled to a refund for any used portion of the goods, and the choice to cancel the contract for services. You are also entitled to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure of goods or services.
