Terms and Conditions

INSTALLATION

  • A minimum deposit of 10% is required when the contract has been signed.
  • Once the deposit is received, all the necessary applications are approved, and equipment is available, we will schedule the commencement of the installation.
  • While we will endeavour to comply with your requirements regarding timing, there may be delays in the initiation and/or completion and/or commissioning of the equipment as a result of adverse weather conditions or approval delays from your network distributor such as Endeavour Energy, Ausgrid or Essential Energy. We will proceed with the installation as soon as practicable.
  • Solbase will only contract a Clean Energy Council accredited independent licence electrician (“Installer”) to install your system. If requested Solbase will provide you details of your Installer before the commencement of any work.
  • To avoid paying additional charges, you must ensure there is reasonable access to the site at all times during installation.

AUTHORITY TO ACCESS INSTALLATION ADDRESS

  • You warrant you are the property owner and the occupier at the installation address.
  • You authorize Solbase (its contractors/employees, agents and installers) to have access to the property at times it reasonably requires. This access may include but is not limited to, site inspections, the signing of necessary documentation, the delivery and installations of the PV solar system. WiFi Network must also be available to set up a connection to the inverter.

LIABILITY AND RISK

  • Solbase endeavours to have the installation completed within the agreed term. You acknowledge however that the delivery times made known to you are estimates only and Solbase will not be liable for the late delivery of the products, and financial loss (i.e. changes in STC rates) occasioned to you as a result of the late installation of the PV Solar System.
  • Your warranty doesn’t cover any damage caused to the system following the installation.
  • You acknowledge that Solbase gives no warranty as to your entitlements to Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).
  • You recognise that Solbase doesn’t provide any particular level of performance of the PV Solar System which is subject to numerous external factors including roof orientation and pitch, number of hours of direct sunlight, cloud cover and shading from surrounding buildings and trees.
  • Solbase is liable for the repair or replacement of damages to the installed PV solar system under the approved warranty period provided that:
  • defects have emerged purely from faulty materials or workmanship;
  • they have not received maltreatment, inattention or interference;
  • accessories of any kind used by you are manufactured by or approved by Solbase;
  • the seals of any kind on the goods remain unbroken;
  • the defective parts are promptly returned to Solbase;
  • If Solbase does not manufacture products, the warranty of the manufacturer thereof shall be accepted by you and is the only warranty given to you in respect of goods. A copy of such warranties will be delivered to you on the installation date.
  • Solbase does warrant to you its installation workmanship for the PV solar system for a period of 5 years from the installation date.
  • Solbase shall not be liable for any faulty or defective product design supplied unless Solbase has wholly prepared such design. The responsibility for any claim must be accepted explicitly by Solbase in writing.
  • Solbase shall not be liable for any claim in respect of loss or damage resulting from incidents involving foil insulation installed and inspected by others.
  • It is advised to have the solar system inspected and maintained by Solbase’s network of CEC accredited solar installers every 2 years at an additional cost to achieve maximum efficiency and best return for your installed solar system. SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

  • The performance of the system is subject to a number of variable factors including the hours of sunlight, cloud cover, shading, environmental factors, roof orientation, roof inclination other environmental conditions such as flora and fauna.
  • Solbase will install the system in a position that is likely to maximise its performance.
  • Solbase does not guarantee the performance of any system other than as outlined in the quotation and associated documentation and accepts no responsibility if the performance is less than anticipated. This does not affect or diminish Solbase’s or the manufacturers’ warranties in relation to the system and its components.

STC’s

  • In the case of STC’s or other government subsidies, it is agreed upon that these or other such incentives, must be signed over to Solbase upon completed installation.
  • You acknowledge that the purchase price in the solar quote has been calculated on the basis that you will assign the STCs to us and that we will receive a financial benefit from any Federal Government Scheme (if applicable). If for any reason, not caused by us, we do not receive the STCs or the Federal Government Scheme (if applicable) the final payment will be adjusted by an amount equal to that of the STCs or Federal Government Scheme (as the context requires).

TERMINATION

  • You have a right to cancel this agreement without any reason within 10 business days from and including the day after you sign or received this agreement.
  • If the supplier has not complied with the law in relation to unsolicited consumer agreement you also have a right to cancel this agreement by contacting the supplier either verbally or in writing.
  • You may terminate this agreement before the installation, however, Solbase reserves the right to retain full deposit amount to cover the cost of services.

PRIVACY POLICY

  • You agree to provide Solbase with all personal information necessary for the accurate completion of documentation for the network connection to the electricity grid and your REC’s.
  • Solbase may share your personal information with the contractors, employees and installers only so far as to effectively perform their role.
  • Solbase will provide your information on your behalf to the relevant bodies for connecting your PV Solar System to the grid, processing of your RECs and if asked, your electricity retailer.
  • Unless otherwise agreed with you, Solbase will not provide your personal information to any third parties other than those mentioned above.
  • Solbase will not sell your personal information under any circumstances.
  • We will comply with all relevant privacy legislation concerning your personal information.
  • By accepting the contract Solbase may share the installation photos and testimonials on our website and social media platforms solely for Solbase’s benefit.

GST

  • All prices quoted in this agreement are inclusive of GST imposed under “A New Tax System” (Good and Service Tax) Act 1999 as amended.

PAYMENT

  • The outstanding amount must be paid in full before or on the day of installation or advised otherwise.
  • Delay in payment may incur additional fees and admin charges of 2.5% on a daily basis of the total invoice value unless notified otherwise.
  • Solbase reserves the right to retrieve the solar system if payment is not paid in full within the prescribed time frame unless instructed otherwise.
  • Payments can be made via direct deposit, cash, debit card, credit card or bank cheque.
